Brass for Change – A Musical Mission in Uganda
About the Project
Music has the power to inspire, connect, and transform lives. Brass for Children is a non-profit initiative based in Kanungu, Uganda, that provides underprivileged children with access to music education. Founded in 2018 by Atakunda Gershom, the project offers brass instrument lessons, fostering confidence, creativity, and future opportunities for the young musicians.
As a passionate trombonist and music educator, I am joining this initiative to teach, learn, and share the joy of music. My goal is to contribute my skills while gaining new insights into music education in a completely different cultural context. I believe that this exchange will not only impact the children in Uganda but also enrich my teaching in Germany.
Why This Matters
Many children in Kanungu have little access to structured education, and music provides them with a sense of purpose, discipline, and joy. The project helps them develop valuable skills that can open doors for their future. By participating in Brass for Children, I aim to support this mission by:
✔ Teaching brass instruments and musical fundamentals
✔ Supporting local teachers and learning from their methods
✔ Raising funds for instruments and educational materials
How You Can Help
To make this journey possible, I am running a crowdfunding campaign to cover travel expenses and support the project. Every contribution helps provide instruments, lessons, and opportunities for the children.
Join me in bringing the power of music to Uganda!
